Boston, Massachusetts – A kitten that was apparently stuffed in a mailbox and abandoned, was adopted recently by a postal worker. The confused but otherwise healthy two-pound, eight-week-old female kitten was found among envelopes and packages in a public Boston mailbox by a letter carrier during the Saturday afternoon pick-up.
She was named “Postina” by workers at the MSPCA Animal Care and Adoption Center where she was fed, vaccinated and put up for adoption. Ironically, a New Hampshire postal worker – George Knapp – and his wife – Dani-Jean Stuart – have decide to make her their family pet, and have renamed her P.D. (for “postage due).”
